Müller: Ronaldo Assessment – Bayern Insight

Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have been offered to FC Bayern Munich in 2022. Thomas Müller could definitely have imagined CR7 with the record champions.

In the past there was speculation about a possible move from superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to FC Bayern Munich. Now Thomas Müller has shared his thoughts on this scenario.

“Ronaldo at Bayern could have worked in a sporting sense. At that point he was already a pure goalscorer and would certainly have scored his goals,” explained the current MLS footballer in an interview with the Sports picture.

However, according to Müller, the Portuguese would have had a bad hand under current Bayern coach Vincent Kompany.

Müller: “It probably wouldn’t have worked under Kompany”

“Whether he could have integrated into the team and the style of play would have been up to the coach. Let’s put it this way: it probably wouldn’t have worked under Kompany’s style of play because there are eleven men working for each other in both directions,” explained Müller.

Ronaldo is said to have signaled interest in a move to FC Bayern through his management in 2022 – when his time at Manchester United came to an end. According to reports, there was even a meeting between the then Bayern sports director Oliver Kahn and Ronaldo advisor Jorge Mendes.

Ultimately, a transfer to the record champions never materialized. Instead, Ronaldo has been hunting goals for the Saudi club Al-Nassr since 2023.

“Cristiano’s body language is rather questionable”

When asked whether Müller would have liked to play with Ronaldo, the 36-year-old answered ambivalently.

“I heard that Cristiano is said to be a very good teammate off the pitch. On the pitch, however, I found Cristiano’s body language rather questionable,” said Müller, who left FC Bayern last summer after his contract expired.
