He has never played an official match with PSG. Barely a few minutes during preseason meetings. Recruited in January 2024 by the capital club for a sum of around 20 million euros, the young Brazilian Gabriel Moscardo was first left on loan at his training club Corinthians before arriving in France the following summer.
The young defensive midfielder, now aged 20, was then loaned to Stade de Reims, during the 2024-2025 campaign, then to Braga, in the Portuguese championship, this season where he continues his learning of European football (23 matches in all competitions). But Moscardo, under contract with Paris until 2028, is determined to one day wear the tunic of the European champion.
And to achieve this you can count on weight support. That of Luis Campos, the influential sports advisor of PSG whom he considers “a father”.
“He is a person who helps me a lot, especially when I had my accident,” confides Moscardo in an interview with Brazilian media Terra. He told me he was going to hire me and that I was good. He always trusted me 100%. He has already come to visit me and attended matches. He really is a father to me. I have great affection for him and I hope to bring him a lot of joy. He told me: the goal of my career now is to make you succeed at PSG, to make you one of the best midfielders in the world ».
“A very big scare”
During this interview Moscardo also revealed an anecdote which almost deprived him of his signing with PSG. During routine medical examinations, club doctors discovered an anomaly on one foot.
If he had never “felt pain” until then, the MRI revealed “a black hole”. “It was the absence of bones,” confides Moscardo. When the doctors saw it, they thought it was cancer. We all felt very scared, they thought it was a tumor. But, thank goodness, that wasn’t the case. »
Furthermore, the player indicates that he hopes to be among those selected to play in the next World Cup with Brazil.
