Morelos Table Tennis: Road to the National Olympics

With a view to the Conade 2026 National Olympiad, the Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of the State of Morelos (Indem), directed by Juan Felipe Domínguez Robles, in coordination with the Table Tennis Association, held the state stage of said discipline where the group of athletes who will compete in the regional stage towards the final tournament was formed.

In this context, it was detailed that the regional phase will be held in the state of Querétaro, and Morelos will be represented by the following tennis players: Romina Zoe Olvera Rabadán, in the Children’s B category; Julián Matías Espejel Ojeda, in the Youth A category; and Zuria Renata Olvera Rabadán, Rubén Emiliano Alonzo Tinoco and Adrián Alexis Alonso Duran, in the Youth B category.

During the state tournament, held at the Centenario sports unit in Cuernavaca, preparation meetings were held, and in this regard, Christian Olvera Ramírez, president of the Table Tennis Association, said: “For the moment they are the ones who are going to compete in the national prelude, and we hope to add more athletes to this event.”

Finally, the head of Indem explained that this selection is carried out within the sports strengthening scheme maintained by the state administration headed by Governor Margarita González Saravia, with emphasis on processes and not only immediate results.
