The general assembly was followed by the presentation of trophies.
The Municipal Sports Office (OMS) of Montchanin held its general meeting this Friday evening, followed by the presentation of the athletes’ trophies. On this occasion, Philippe Morele, President of the WHO, presented his moral report, recalling the essential role of sport in society. However, he expressed his concerns about the drop in aid at the national level, making the future of sports clubs increasingly uncertain.
Despite this context, the WHO continues its commitment by offering numerous activities throughout the year, such as the pétanque competition, the Foulées Montchaninoises or the association forum in partnership with the City. The animation and financial reports were then presented respectively by Cédric Berthaud and Christine Plociniczak.
The municipality of Montchanin was represented by Mr. Messoussa, deputy for sports, and Mr. Neufond, deputy for community life. Both renewed the City’s support for the local sports movement, in particular through logistical assistance, the loan of minibuses and halls, as well as through the allocation of subsidies. The richness of Montchanin’s sporting fabric was highlighted, with nearly 1,400 members in the town. “Sport is the school of respect and living together,” recalled Mr. Messoussa.
The evening concluded with the honoring of young athletes from the SMB, table tennis, CTMHB, JSMO, Montchanin Natation, judo and golf clubs. A great recognition for their commitment and their performances. Well done to all these young athletes.
