The weekend of January 31 and 1is February, the Archers du Bois Dinot de Marans club hosted the regional championship young people from Nouvelle-Aquitaine indoor archery, at 18 meters. More than 140 young archersfrom the U11 to U21 categories, made the trip with the objective of winning a 2026 regional title.
Among those selected was Mathis Gratadouxsection archer archery of the Foyer rural d’Aulnay and member of the departmental group of Charente-Maritime. Ranked 11e in the provisional ranking before the competition, he owed his selection to his solid performances throughout the winter season.
The Aulnaysien first went through the warm-up ends then the qualifying shots, made up of two series of ten ends of three arrows, for a maximum total of 600 points. This classification determined the tables of duels contested in the afternoon, before the finals.

An excellent sixth place
Engaged in U18 recurve bow, at the 15D target, Mathis Gratadoux achieves a very nice performance during qualifying. With 540 points, his second best score of the season, he ranks 4e and gets the distinction federal “Red Room star badge”.
In the round of 16, the Aulnaysien clearly won 6-0 against an archer from Ruelle-sur-Touvre (Charente). In the quarter-final, he fought a hotly contested duel against an archer from Pessac (Gironde). Despite a close match (1-1, 2-2, 2-4), he finally lost 6-2 to the one who finished third of the competition. Mathis Gratadoux concludes this regional championship at a excellent 6e place and gains around ten ranks in the provisional ranking with a view to the French championship.
At the same time, in Poitiers – Saint-Benoît, the Compagnie de la Tour à l’Oiseau club organized an indoor shooting at 18 meters. Anthony Hillairet, senior 1 in compound arch and representative of the Foyer rural d’Aulnay, took part. He finished at the foot of the podium and also won the federal distinction of the “Red Hall star badge”. A competition which constituted good training before the upcoming regional championship.
