LEGEND MotoGP racer, Casey Stoner, gave an in-depth assessment of Marc Marquez’s readiness to defend his throne in the 2026 season. According to Stoner, the defending champion has now reached a very high point of understanding of the character of the Ducati Desmosedici GP26 motorbike, a danger signal for his competitors on the race track.

Marc Marquez comes into this season with the prestigious status of being the 2025 MotoGP world champion. This title also completes his collection of seven world titles in the premier class, emphasizing his dominance which has revived after deciding to join the Ducati Lenovo factory team.

1. Ingenious Racing Strategy

Stoner observed that one of the keys to Marquez’s rise was his ability to adapt his racing style to Ducati’s latest technical equipment. This makes the performance of the racer nicknamed The Baby Alien improve rapidly and he looks very confident in every race series he takes part in.

“I think now he is paying enough attention to his motorbike and tires. This is in an effort to find out which part of the race he won,” said Casey Stoner as quoted by Motosan, Wednesday (18/2/2026).

2. Strength in the Late Round

Furthermore, the two-time world champion praised Marquez’s very mature technical calculations, especially in terms of maintaining tire durability. Stoner believes that many people do not realize that Marquez’s main strength currently lies in his ability to save power and tire grip for a deadly attack in the final laps.
