Maignan Signs New AC Milan Deal: 2031 Contract

Mike Maignan continues his Milanese adventure. Arriving at AC Milan in the summer of 2021, the goalkeeper of the France team extended his contract until 2031, as the club confirmed this Saturday. At 30 years old, “Magic Mike” has already worn the Milan jersey 188 times, and could therefore well stay in Lombardy until the end of his career.

“After joining the Rossoneri in the summer of 2021, Mike quickly established himself as one of the pillars of the team, standing out for his leadership, reliability and selflessness. His constant progression has allowed him to become captain of the club and a central figure within the team, as well as a pillar of the France team,” wrote AC Milan in its press release making the news official.

The French goalkeeper should now earn 5 million euros per year (plus bonus), approaching the best salary in the squad, which Rafael Leão currently benefits from (€5.5 million plus bonus).

Best goalkeeper in Serie A in 2021-2022

Winner of Serie A in 2022, then the Italian Super Cup in 2024, the Frenchman is currently fighting for a second national coronation. Second with 47 points, the Milanese still have five points less than their neighbors Inter Milan. There are still 16 games to play.

“These successes reflect a personal journey built over time thanks to his dedication, his sense of responsibility and his deep attachment to the Rossoneri colors. On an individual level, he was named the best goalkeeper in Serie A for the 2021-2022 season. AC Milan and Mike Maignan are now strengthening their bond, with the common goal of continuing to write new chapters in the club’s history together,” the press release concludes.
