Jacquet also expressed his feelings after completing the deal with Liverpool. He admitted that he was proud to be able to join one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“I feel very honored to be able to sign a contract with Liverpool, one of the greatest football institutions in the world,” said Jacquet. “For me, it is very important to close my journey with the red and black in the best way, at the club where I grew up and the club that is so close to my heart. I look at the second half of the season with a strong desire to experience beautiful emotions with my teammates and supporters.”
Previously, Chelsea had been strongly linked with Jacquet and had even held talks with the player. However, Jacquet reportedly preferred the Liverpool project, especially after The Blues brought Mamadou Sarr back from his loan spell at Strasbourg.
