“Lielvārde/Unihoc” defeats “Bauska” in 17 minutes

In the penultimate game of the regular tournament of the ELVI floorball league for men, “Lielvārde/Unihoc” had a convincing victory, which tonight 11:4 defeated the “Bauska” team. The most productive among the winners with 6 (3+3) points was Aivis Kusiņš.

For the most part of the game, the Lielvārdi team, taking the bottom of the tournament table at the Lielvārde Sports Center, did not have an easy time. The full eight minutes had not been played yet, when Bauškėnai were already in the lead with 2:0. Everts Janušauskis and Artis Černovskis scored goals for the visiting team. Until the first break, the home team managed to restore a draw – 2:2. Aivis Kusiņš and Renārs Hugo Bļass each scored a goal. In the second third, only one goal was recorded – in the 22nd minute, Juris Sandis Jēgers put the Lielvārde team in the lead for the first time. The visitors had a great start to the last period, scoring two goals in a short period of time and taking a 4-3 lead. However, in the remaining 17 minutes of the regular time, the giants dominated the field, scoring eight unanswered goals. “Lielvārde/Unihoc” won with 11:4.

Jānis Plotu was recognized as the best player in the Lielvārde team, who scored one goal. Aivis Kusiņš was the most productive with 6 (3+3) points, Raivo Kīsnica had 3 (1+2) points, while Uldis Dūniņš, Juris Sandis Jēgers, Renārs Hugo Bļass and Mārtiņš Lejnieks collected two points each. The best among the people from Bauškės – Roberts Jakubonis, who didn’t get any points this time. His teammate Pēteris Zeltiņas got 3 (1+2) points, while Artis Černovskis and Everts Janušauskis got two points each. “Bauska” had already lost hope of avoiding the last place in the tournament table and rematches, but “Lielvārde/Unihoc” secured 7th place (27 points) and participation in the playoffs with this success.
