Opinions are different. Some netizens praise the elegant design and emphasize that these outfits look pretty. On the other hand, others pay attention to the choice of colors and ask the question of how suitable light shades are for winter conditions.

Also, musician and TV personality Lauris Reiniks expressed his thoughts about this year’s outfits on the social network “Threads”, writing: “I read that our Olympians’ outfits this year were designed to be noticeable and stand out in the international environment. I’m not a fashion expert, but the only thing that could stand out internationally is the smallest stains on those white ears. I would definitely accidentally spill something… And become noticeable.”

Several other users of the social network “Threads” also commented on the costumes of the Latvian delegation in the comments section of this post. Some agree that white and light clothes require special care, others point out that it is the white color that will allow ours to stand out against the background of others.

Here’s what other people thought about the outfits:

The Latvian Olympic Committee explains that this time a special partner has been chosen for the representative costumes – the Italian fashion brand DAN JOHN, with which a collection for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games has been created. As announced on the website olimpiade.lv, the purpose of the costumes is to strengthen the feeling of belonging to Team Latvia and at the same time to show Latvia in the international environment in elegant but modern design silhouettes.

The clothes are created based on the traditions of elegance – clean silhouettes, modern shapes and a well-thought-out overall image, preserving Latvian aesthetics and current Italian design trends. The basis of the collection is a well-thought-out range of colors and a classic, at the same time, current design. The outfits are designed to meet official requirements, while providing comfort, lightness and a visible image, which allows our delegation to create a harmonious overall image and stand out in the international environment, the portal explains.

The collection includes a burgundy turtleneck sweater and a matching tone double-breasted button-down jacket, a gray double-breasted button-up coat and light-colored trousers, creating a visually balanced and elegant combination. The wool used in the jacket and coat provides both warmth and a natural fall, allowing the outfit to maintain elegance and comfort, while reflecting confidence and readiness to represent Latvia in the world’s biggest sporting event.

Specially selected accents will complement the overall image. Latvian jewelry brand Given has created unique bracelets suitable for both men and women with silver three-star symbolism, which reflects Latvia’s identity and belonging to Team Latvia. On the other hand, the set of women’s outfits will be additionally accentuated by a scarf with a Latvian pattern.
