Cyle Larin has had a dream start in the Championship. The attacker, who recently exchanged Feyenoord for Southampton, was immediately accurate on his debut in the home match against Watford. The Canadian only needed one touch to head his new employer into the lead.
Larin’s transfer to the English club was recently completed, after the striker was allowed to leave Rotterdam. During the match against Watford, the attacker started on the substitute bench, but in the second half he got the chance to prove himself. Larin came on as a substitute in the 66th minute.
The effect of his intervention was visible almost immediately. Just four minutes after his entrance, in the 70th minute of the match, Southampton were allowed to approach for a corner kick. Larin immediately showed himself sharp in the enemy penalty area.
Larin’s goal ultimately proved immediately decisive: it was the only goal of the match and earned his team three important points. For the Canadian attacker it meant a dream start to his adventure in England. Southampton’s victory over Watford also sees the club climb to fourteenth place in the rankings.
