After a wave of layoffs, only the head coach position at the Las Vegas Raiders is now vacant in the National Football League (NFL).
The Arizona Cardinals, one of two remaining teams without a head coach, have hired Mike LaFleur to replace Jonathan Gannon.
The 38-year-old LaFleur, previously the offensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams, received a five-year contract. The franchise announced this on Sunday.
NFL: Ten clubs were looking for a new coach
In the meantime, ten clubs were looking for a coach, only Las Vegas has not yet presented a successor to Pete Carroll.
According to media reports, the favorite is Klint Kubiak, offensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks, who will play against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX (60) on February 8th. Only then should the personnel be decided and communicated.
This is LaFleur’s first head coaching position. His older brother Matt (46) has been head coach of the Green Bay Packers since 2019.
