The Korea Sports Council announced on the 5th that 93 people and 5 organizations were selected as winners in a total of 8 categories: competition, coaching, refereeing, daily sports, school sports, merit, research, and sports value, following deliberation by the Sports Fair Committee and resolution at the 12th board of directors meeting on the 2nd.
Won-ho Kim, who received the grand prize honor, worked with Seung-jae Seo of the same team and achieved excellent results by winning the men’s doubles title at the 2025 Paris World Badminton Championships and winning 11 gold medals in a single season on the World Tour.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Taereung Athletes’ Village Champion House at 2 p.m. on the 13th of next month, and winners will be awarded a commendation plaque and special prizes.

In addition, commendation plaques and prizes will also be awarded to winners in each category of Excellence and Encouragement Awards (21 people and 3 organizations for Excellence Awards, 60 people and 2 organizations for Encouragement Awards).
Since establishing the Sports Awards in 1955, the Sports Council has awarded awards every year to people who have demonstrated outstanding skills in various sports activities or who have contributed to the development of sports through creative and dedicated efforts.
