GALLNEUKIRCHEN/LEONDING. There was a real shower of medals last weekend at the state judo championships in Gallneukirchen for the ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding. A total of eleven Leofighters won gold and are therefore the new national champions. There were also seven silver and seven bronze medals.
Last weekend the state judo championships took place in Gallneukirchen, on Saturday in the age groups U18, U21 and in the general class and on Sunday the U12, U14 and U16 took to the mats. Eva Haller, Daniel and Samuel Farfeleder from ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding were crowned new national champions on Saturday. Alex Radeanu and Eva Haller (AK) took silver and Emily Siewert and Abdul Azaev took bronze.
But the Leofighters really won on Sunday. ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding has won an incredible eight gold medals. The new national champions are: Thea Mayrhofer (U12), Timur Sagdic (U14), Florentina Stump (U14), Tim Drinovac (U14), Raphael Faltinger (U16), Nujin Bekko (U16), Severin Stump (U16) and Eduard Gabl (U16). Mona Bertleff (U12), Raphael Faltinger (U14), Florentina Stump (U14), Walid Arsaliew (U14), Saif Hahaev (U14) also secured silver. Bronze went to Luan Xhekaj (U12), Aria Jan (U12), Arthur Gabl (U14), Nujin Bekko (U14) and Felix Hackl (U16). This meant that the Leondingers ended up in second place in the club rankings.
“This is an incredibly strong result and we are extremely proud of our Leofighters,” says the coaching duo Andrea and Martin Stump.
