Jhon Viáfara: Ex-Soccer Star Released From US Prison

After having served time in a United States prison for crimes related to drug traffickingthe former soccer player of the Colombian national team Jhon Viáfara, who was also champion of the Copa Libertadores with Once Caldas in 2004, was released in the last hours of this Saturday, February 7.

In January 2020, the former player was extradited to the United States after being required by a federal court and was sentenced to 12 years in prison, serving part of his sentence in a prison in Atlanta, Georgia.

However, he was released 6 years early for good behavior, which allowed him a considerable reduction in his sentence.

Journalist Jaime Orlando Dinas shared an image with Viáfara, confirming that he is now free and with his family.
