Jhon Arias to Palmeiras: Deal Confirmed

A couple of days after Palmeiras’ millionaire offer for Jhon Arias became known, the Brazilian press reports that everything is practically finalized and that the player signed a pre-contract this Thursday with the Brazilian team.

“This is a bureaucratic procedure that usually occurs in important negotiations (…) Now, Palmeiras is in the final phase of completing the procedures with Wolverhampton to collect signatures, in addition to undergoing a medical examination, to be able to announce Arias as their new signing,” Globo Esporte publishes.

Wolverhampton sells Arias for 25 million euros, a figure higher than what he spent in the summer when he bought it from Fluminense. The English paid close to 20 million on that occasion. The Colombian commits to Palmeiras for 4 years, until December 2029.

The announcement of this transfer seems imminent, it would be a matter of hours. Arias would end his adventure in England after playing 26 official matches, score 2 goals and provide an assist. His only goal in the Premier League was against West Ham United.

This movement is a good news for Néstor Lorenzo and the Colombian National Team facing the 2026 World Cup. The player was not an undisputed starter in Wolverhampton, his team is last in the table with just one game won and Brazil is a country where Arias triumphed and is considered one of the best in recent years.
