The Islamic World League strongly condemned the attack by the “Rapid Support Forces” on a humanitarian aid convoy of the World Food Programme, in northern North Kordofan, Republic of the Sudan.

In a statement from its General Secretariat, Sheikh Mohammed ben Abdulkarim Alissa, Secretary General of the League of the Islamic World and President of the Council of Ulema, denounced this atrocious criminal act, which constitutes a serious violation of all religious values, as well as international and humanitarian laws and customs.

The SG reaffirmed the constant position of the League, as well as that of all Muslim peoples under its aegis, which rejects and condemns any aggression against civilians, humanitarian organizations and their personnel. He stressed the need to comply with the provisions of the “Jeddah Declaration” and the norms of international law on the protection of civilians, as well as to ensure the safety of corridors for the transfer of humanitarian aid intended for civilian populations in the Sudan.
