  • The four players mentioned are Pascal Struijk, Jenson Seelt, Dean Zandbergen and Laurin Ulrich for various positions.

Suara.com – Vietnamese media, Soha, highlighted the latest steps taken by the Indonesian National Team in the coaching era of John Herdman, which was considered to be increasingly aggressive in attracting players of European descent.

In his special report, Soha assessed that PSSI is currently preparing a more targeted naturalization project to strengthen the quality of the Garuda squad.

In the title of its report, the Vietnamese media said that Indonesia was preparing to add four new players through the naturalization route.

This policy is linked to long-term efforts to increase the competitiveness of the national team by recruiting players who play in European competitions.

“Preparing to introduce four naturalized players, Indonesia’s new coach is still searching for talent in Europe,” wrote Soha, in the title of his report.

They also assessed that the collaboration between PSSI and John Herdman showed a more serious pattern compared to the previous period.

The naturalization process is now considered no longer spontaneous, but rather goes through more measurable monitoring and evaluation stages.

The Vietnamese media then revealed four players who were said to be on the radar of the Indonesian National Team.

The first name is Pascal Struijk, Leeds United defender who has Indonesian blood on his mother’s side.

Struijk’s experience playing in England is considered to have a big impact on the defense of the Garuda squad.

However, not long ago, Struijk also emphasized that he was waiting to be called up by the Dutch national team rather than the Red and White team.

The next name is Jenson Seelt, Wolfsburg’s young defender. Soha said Seelt has Maluku ancestry from his father’s line and is seen as a potential asset for the Indonesian national team’s defense sector in the future.

From the front sector, Dean Zandbergen is also on the list. The 188 cm tall striker who defends VVV Venlo is known to have a mother from Depok, West Java.

Even though he is big in the Netherlands, Zandbergen’s presence is considered to be able to present a new alternative in Indonesia’s attack scheme.

Meanwhile, Laurin Ulrich is another name that is attracting attention. The FC Magdeburg midfielder once wore the captain’s armband for the German junior national team and is said to have family ties to Indonesia through his grandfather.
