There are still three days until the top game of the Bundesliga on Sunday evening in Munich, league leaders FC Bayern will meet third-placed Hoffenheim. Andreas Schicker, managing director and sports director of TSG 1899, sits at the office in Zuzenhausen and smiles. He says he’s looking forward to “a wonderful game.” However, that is only the second part of the sentence, and the smile is more of a friendly gesture than happy. In the first part of his statement, Schicker explained what he intended to do to give the TSG professionals the best possible preparation for the game in the middle of the next domestic crisis: “I’m trying to ignore this topic, which is definitely there, as best as possible and keep it out of the sport.”
