The successful Slovak hockey player is proud of his new title. The most valuable. Just before leaving for the Olympics, he became the father of a daughter, whom he and his significant other chose a popular Slovak name – Anička.

Everything we dreamed of,” the happy new mother wrote about the first pictures of the baby, which were also published on the social network by the hockey club of our defenseman Washington Capitals. Martin Fehérváry made no secret of the fact that Alexander Ovečkin also congratulated him on the birth of the baby.
The baby was born on January 31, 2026, when our successful player missed one game of his team. However, on the next one, on February 2, he started and immediately scored. His club finally won 4:1.
As he quotes a hockey player from overseas media Sport24he dedicates this goal to his partner and daughter. “It’s a great feeling to score right after I missed the game because of the birth of my daughter. Some of the guys mentioned it before the game. They were saying something like ‘father power’ and they mentioned that you often score right after this happens to you, so I guess there will be something to it. But I think we did a really good job and I enjoyed the game today.”
They did not know the gender until the birth
Only the 26-year-old athlete admitted that he wanted to be a father at a young age, and that came true. Was he also at the birth? “Yes. And I have to say hats off to my girlfriend and all the women because it’s not easy,” he told Sports Time. At the same time, he added that giving birth was definitely more stressful for him than the match itself.
Most couples reveal their gender with a “gender reveal” party. At these celebrations, they cut a cake, burst balloons, open envelopes or find out in some other way who will be born. Boy or girl? Martin Fehérváry is old school in this. He and his partner decided not to know the gender until the birth.
“We wanted to be surprised, so we also bought things neutrally,” he admitted to Športový Čas.

According to the photos, it can be seen that he is very happy with his little princess. He even carried her away from the maternity ward in the egg. He wants to be an active father from the beginning who will help his partner with everything. However, he will not see his young family in the coming weeks because he wants to support the Slovak national team at the Olympics. It is a life success that almost every athlete wants to experience.
“I’m already looking forward to it, it will be a great event, the best players in the world and I believe that we will please the fans with our game,” hopes Fehérváry. We believe that his other teammates will also bring the positive mood and “strength of fathers” to Italy.
