The call combines local talent with players born and trained in academies in the United Statesmany with Guatemalan roots that allow them to be eligible for selection. At the national level, the base focuses on Xelajú and Communicationswho contribute 4 and 5 players respectively, while Municipal, Achuapa, Cobán Imperial and AFF add one player each.
Tournament context and format
For the second consecutive year, Guatemala will host the Premundial Sub-17on this occasion of February 3 to 12, 2026being part of the Group C. In the previous edition of the Concacaf qualifier, held in 2025, the eight tickets to the U-17 World Cup were obtained by Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Honduras, Haiti, United States, Panama and El Salvadorteams that managed to win as group leaders and represent the region in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
