In the end, in front of the eyes of the Danish Queen Mary, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the German players stood a little lost on the floor that they had previously played with so much energy and passion for 60 minutes – and had to watch the Danes celebrate. In an exciting final, the host defeated the German Handball Association (DHB) with 34:27 goals and, after the World Cup and Olympic victory, also won the third major trophy in world handball.
