Information in Expressen recently claimed that Frölunda had done with Samuel Johannesson for next season.
But also that he could connect already nowdue to a prevailing injury crisis.
Now it is clear that he will join immediately on a contract over the 2027/28 season.
Frölunda’s league lead is shrinking and they have something of a back crisis with injuries that occurred during the season. Therefore, they have now chosen to bring in Samuel Johannesson already now.
The club confirms that the player is leaving his NHL contract to play in Frölunda, after not having played anything in two seasons in the NHL, but 92 games in the AHL for the Springfield Thunderbirds.

Samuel Johannesson will do his first training session with the club already on Monday.

Johannesson won the CHL with Rögle in 2022 and has scored 81 points in 239 games in the SHL for Örebro, Rögle and Brynäs. Given that he is from Halmstad, he is now moving relatively close to his hometown.
Since Frölunda will play in the CHL final this spring, he can repeat his performance from 2022.
