The badminton department of TSV Freystadt will welcome SG Schorndorf on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the sports hall of the Neumarkt Willibald-Gluck-Gymnasium. On Sunday at 2 p.m. the league leaders will face TV Hofheim. With both games, TSV wants to defend its lead of three points over 1. BCB Saarbrücken-Bischmisheim in the 2nd Bundesliga South.
In the first half of the season, Freystadt won against Schorndorf 4-3 away. SG Schorndorf is fifth in the table and only has theoretical chances of winning the title. After relegation from the 1st Bundesliga, the team from Baden-Württemberg had to cope with several departures. Freystadt wants revenge against Hofheim
In the first half of the season, Andreas Pistorius and Victor Petrovic lost in doubles against the Kramer-Erben duo. The top singles between Kramer and Petrovic also went to Schorndorf. This time Mihaljo Tomic is in the Freystädter squad, who was missing in the first half of the season. Freystadt wants to take revenge for their only defeat in the preliminary round against Hofheim. The 3:4 away was the only defeat for the Upper Palatinate team in the first half of the season. The sixth-place team from Hesse relies on Mareike Bittner, who won 30 of 32 games this season and is still unbeaten in singles. In the first half of the season, Ella Neve came close to winning against Bittner for the first time. She forced Bittner into the deciding set, but lost it with 7.11. The women’s doubles also went to Hofheim.
