Fortuna 96 starts the second half of the season with three points.

First matchday of the second half of the season, both teams away. While the first team in the association league returned home with a 5:3 win at TSG Weinheim, the second team fought for a 4:4 win at DJK Hockenheim.

It started with an exclamation mark in the first men’s doubles. Oliver Stein and Alexander Bödigheimer showed strong nerves against Lennart Luntz and Martin Sebastian Hoffmann in both sets and secured the first point for Fortuna with 21:17 / 21:17. In the 2nd men’s singles, Alexander Bödigheimer confirmed the lead. He took the next point against Konstantin Kleefoot with 21:19 / 21:17. Fortuna is now back in front. And then the final in the 3rd men’s singles. Fabio Schlindwein against Alex Engelhardt. Weinheim grabbed the first set with 12:21, Schlindwein countered with a strong nerve in the second set with 22:20 and made everything clear in the third with 21:19. It was clear that Schwetzingen would win 5-3 away!

The second team also had an encounter in Hockenheim that remained open until the end.
In the first men’s doubles, Patrick Leeker and Dominik Demtröder scored 21:18 / 21:15. The women’s doubles also went to Schwetzingen. Ella Savenkova and Dorothee Ledermann won confidently with 21:9 / 21:7, 2:0 for Fortuna II. Hockenheim then hit back in the 2nd men’s doubles. Xzn Fang and Martin Käfer lost with 18:21 / 18:21. Things got dramatic in the first men’s singles. Patrick Leeker won set one with 21:18, but then had to lose sets two and three with 17:21 / 16:21, Hockenheim was back on. The women’s singles also went to the hosts. Ella Savenkova lost 19:21 / 15:21. But Schwetzingen held on, in the mixed doubles Martin Käfer and Dorothee Ledermann won an important point with 21:11 and 21:11. In the 2nd men’s singles, Dominik Demtröder showed nerves.
