Fluminense drew 1-1 with Bahia, this Thursday (05/02), in the second round of the Brazilian Championship. At Arena Fonte Nova, John Kennedy scored the goal for Tricolor, which reached four points and occupies fifth place in the league table.
Coach Luis Zubeldía’s team returns to the field on Sunday (02/08), to face Maricá, in the sixth and final round of the Guanabara Cup. The match will be at Maracanã, at 8:30 pm
FIRST HALF
The start of the match was balanced, with Fluminense being present in the offensive field, but without creating clear chances. The first shot came in the 17th minute, when Canobbio played Freytes on the edge of the area and the defender kicked hard out. Shortly after, at 19, in a beautiful collective play, John Kennedy received it from Martinelli in the area and passed it to Nonato, who passed it back for the number 99 to send into the back of the goal, opening the score for Tricolor.
The team maintained its intensity and continued creating opportunities. At 23, Acosta took a risk from distance and finished over the goal. Two minutes later, Nonato received a beautiful pass from Acosta, took off on the right and rolled it to Serna, who sent it out. The Colombian appeared again at 29, with a cross shot that required the goalkeeper to save. At 41, Canobbio received the ball on the right, pulled it into the middle and finished over the goal.
SECOND HALF
Fluminense returned with the same intensity, with Serna bringing danger to the opponent in the first minute of the second half. At 9, John Kennedy played to Acosta at the edge of the area, who finished close to the crossbar. In the next minute, Martinelli passed to Serna on the left wing, the Colombian invaded the area, cleared the mark and shot, which was saved by the goalkeeper.
In a beautiful counterattack, at 20, John Kennedy received it from Acosta in the middle, took it to the edge of the area and sent it to Canobbio, who shot, but the goalkeeper saved it. John Kennedy took advantage of the surplus and finished, demanding another save from the goalkeeper. At 32, Cristian Oliveira tied the match. Tricolor almost scored the second at 48, with a shot from Arana, but the full-back sent it over the goal.
