SC Paderborn underlined its ambitions of a return to the Bundesliga with an ultimately shaky home win against 1. FC Nürnberg. Without the suspended head coach Ralf Kettemann on the bench, the East Westphalia team defeated the Franconians 2-1 (2-0) in the second league and moved up to second place for the time being.

The deciding factor in front of 13,440 spectators was a double strike by the hosts from penalty taker Sebastian Klaas (26th minute) and Laurin Curda (29th) in the first half.
