Dronten Athletes of the Year 2025: Winners Revealed

During the 2025 Sports Election, which was held last night in De Meerpaal, the winners were announced in several categories. The organization introduced a new prize this year, the Sporty Surprise category. The evening had a large turnout and was festive.

The presentation was in the hands of Robin van der Stege. The musical accompaniment was provided by Hans Jansen Music. Councilor Siert Jan Lap presented the prizes and personally congratulated the athletes and volunteers.

Awards

In the Volunteer category, the awards went to Carl Custers (Bas Voetbal), Titia Elema (ASVD Q-cape korfball), Henk Veldhuizen (ASV Dronten football) and Getruud Dijkveld (Swift’64 football). The title of Sports Talent Girl went to swimmer Ylène Zondervan; Among the boys, swimmer Douwe Enzerink became sports talent of the year.

Siemen Scheepsma was named Adapted Athlete of the Year. In the Sportswoman category, Evi Falkena (athletics) won, while Rolf de Ruiter (windsurfing) was named Sportsman of the Year. Annie Claassen (equestrian) received the title of Coach of the Year.

Curling Daddy’s

The youth team of Badminton Club Dronten was elected Youth Sports Team. The Sports Team title went to asv Dronten O23-1. The new Sporty Surprise category was won by the Curling Daddy’s.

Various champions were also honored during the evening: Evi Falkena (athletics, Dutch champion), Gejanne Lussenburg (athletics, Dutch and European champion), Youth Team Badminton Club Dronten (badminton, Dutch champion), Lisanne Andeweg (swimming, Dutch champion), Ylène Zondervan (swimming, Dutch champion), Klaas van Pijkeren (athletics, Dutch champion), Dean Hermus (taekwondo, Dutch champion) and Nikki Boon (athletics, world champion).
