With Saturday evening’s splendid victory over Montevarchi still in mind, Pallacanestro Don Bosco gets on the bus to face a tough away match on Saturday in the late afternoon. Giuseppe Di Manno’s troop, in fact, is on stage on the parquet of a team in full swing, the Valdisieve team who approaches the match galvanized by the recent series of three consecutive successes.
Awaiting the rossoblu, a team that traditionally always offers its best performance at home, and which wants to seize the fourth success in a row to catch up with Pallacanestro Don Bosco at 22nd in the standings. A team truly to be taken with a pinch of salt, the one entrusted this season to coach Alberto Bardini, in which there is no shortage of important players for the category.
To realize this, just scroll through the stats of the team from the Florentine province, which boasts five men in double figures in terms of points scored per game and a sixth, Cosimo Faticanti, at 9.7. The top scorer is the young guard Valletti, who scores 14.9 points per lace-up, exactly one point more than what the point guard Francesco Ciacci produces. Added to this top-level backcourt are Daniele Rossi’s 11.9 and the Simoncini center’s 11.
In short, a team to be taken with a pinch of salt, as stated in the words of coach Di Manno who presents the match thus: “A complex match awaits us, which requires great clarity and attention from the first possessions; Valdisieve is in fact coming off three consecutive victories and has always provided excellent performances at home, beating even important opponents. For us, the key will be to be able to stay in the match, accepting moments of difficulty, continuing to do our things without getting into difficulty when the pace of the match changes. We must, and want, grow, precisely in the ability to remain mentally present when the game doesn’t flow as we would like. It will be a match in which we will have to have great maturity, solidity and continuity, for another important stage in our journey.”
