The final of the European Handball Championship in Herning brought the outcome in which it is Denmark confirmed the status of the best national team of today by winning a gold medal, while Croatia in the match for third place, Iceland defeated 34:33 (17:14) and won bronze.

The Croatian handball team won the seventh medal in the history of the European championships, beating Iceland in the match for third place with a score of 34:33. He was the best scorer in Croatia Tin Lučin with nine goals, while Iceland’s Ingi Omar Magnusson scored 12 goals, ten of which were from sevens
This is the fourth bronze medal for Croatian handball players (1994, 2012, 2016, 2026), along with three silvers (2008, 2010, 2020). In total, this is Croatia’s 16th medal from major competitions, the second in a row after last year’s silver from the World Championship.
Denmark to the third European gold
Denmark defeated Germany 34:27 in the final (17:15) and won the title of European champion for the third time in history. Current Olympic winners and world champions once again confirmed their dominance on the international scene.
He was declared the best player of the championship (MVP). Mathias Hostagethe first Dane to do so in the history of the EP.
Gidsel joined the list that also includes two Croatian MVP award winners – Domagoj Duvnjak (2020.) the Ivano Balić (2004., 2006.).
The European Championship thus ended with Danish gold and Croatian bronze, with another confirmation of Croatia as a permanent member of the European handball elite.
