Club Growth: Membership & Tournament Wins

Sulzbach. At the annual general meeting of the Sulzbach Judo-Taekwondo Club, first chairman Helmut Kloss was able to look back on an active year for the club. In addition, software changes in the environment of the Internet provider and the house bank were on the list of activities. Despite considerable fluctuation, we can speak of an overall stable development in membership numbers. At this point, Kloss also praised his volunteer coaching teams, who ensure that the active participants train two to three times a week.

Many other events such as the well-attended judo tournaments in Petersberg and Obernburg, various squad courses, the Lower Franconian individual championship and other invitation tournaments ensured a busy year for the club. With a total of 28 medals and two Lower Franconian champions, the JTC was extremely successful here. For the U9/U11 youth, the new concept was proven with three ranking tournaments including courses. At a Kyu exam in the summer, 27 judoka advanced to the next level of graduation.

Those active in Taekwondo also deepened their knowledge in the areas of self-defense and formal running, in Dan preparation or in extending their trainer licenses in various courses and further training courses.

Second chairwoman Yvonne Brand then reported on her participation in the Lower Franconia Judo District Assembly in Würzburg. The switch to the digital judo pass discussed there is still a big topic at the JTC. Brand was also able to complete the additional procurement of club clothing. During an inspection of the Main-Spessart-Halle with the Sulzbach market in June, a long list of defects was drawn up.

On behalf of the third chairman and treasurer Eberhard Jaklin, who was absent as an excuse, Helmut Kloss reported on the club’s balanced and solid financial situation. This was confirmed by the auditors Matthias Körbel and Marc Stenger.

Afterwards, René Herrmann from the entertainment committee gave a positive summary, as both the barbecue festival in May and the bowling in Elsenfeld received an extremely good response. At a joint final training session, the year ended with a Christmas present for the active members and the coaching staff.

The new elections confirmed Helmut Kloss as 1st chairman, Yvonne Brand as 2nd chairman and Eberhard Jaklin as 3rd chairman and treasurer. The auditors Mathias Körbel and Marc Stenger will also remain in office, as will the entertainment committee consisting of Yvonne Brand, Lukas Brehm, René Herrmann and Andrea Reus.

The meeting ended with the discussion of the upcoming dates.
