The Cleveland Cavaliers have traded De’Andre Hunter to the Sacramento Kings for Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis, ESPN reports.
The three-team trade also involves the Chicago Bulls, who are acquiring Dario Saric and two second-round picks from the Kings.
The Cavaliers will thus save $50 million in salary and luxury tax, the financial penalty imposed on teams exceeding the salary cap.
Hunter, who is 28 years old, is averaging 14 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season.
Schroder averages 12.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in his first season since signing a three-year deal to join the Kings last summer. He and Tre Jones are the only players on the club to get at least 10 points and 5 assists per game off the bench.
Ellis is one of the best players in the NBA on both ends of the court (2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per 36 minutes of play).
