Usually, when a player plays on a team with a negative record at the all-Star Break, he does not have a place in an MVP ranking. Jaylen Brown has not gone below 20 points as January 5 against the Bulls. This shows JB’s consistency in his ability to carry the Celtics – still second in the East – to scoring night after night. Brown’s exceptional season combined with Boston’s very surprising results pushed the franchise to be aggressive at the trade deadline, recruiting pivot Nikola Vucevic. It remains to be seen when Jayson Tatum will make his comeback, and how he will fit into a team now guided by Jaylen Brown. The next few weeks will be intriguing for the Celtics.

With six wins in seven games before the all-Star Break, the Pistons finished their first part of the season strong, having the best record in the ENTIRE NBA (Thunder included).
