O Botafogo released a list of related measures to face the Vasco this Sunday, in São Januário, but later deleted the publication and should include more athletes from the main group after pressure from Ferjreports journalist Leonardo Bessa, from “Lance!”.
The initial list included only eight players from the professional squad: Léo Linck, Raul, Vitinho, Alex Telles, Alexander Barboza, Bastos, Allan and Kadir. Coach Martín Anselmi must choose a practically under-20 team, as Botafogo is classified and as leader of its group.
However, Ferj warned that just listing seven players is not enough to comply with the regulations, which ask that clubs “present themselves with a team formed with a minimum of seven of their main athletes, recognized and known to be part of the squad”. The penalty for those who don’t comply with the rule is losing their TV quota.
Botafogo’s main group trained this Sunday morning (8/2), at CT Lonier.
Botafogo deleted the related list published less than an hour ago. This confirmed our information in the @lancenet given last night.
Then, I published here about Ferj’s pressure.
A new list should be released with five or six more from the main group.— Leonardo Bessa (@Bessa_Leo) February 8, 2026
