The general assembly of the Bénouville Sports and Leisure Association (ASLB), a few weeks ago, was marked by the celebration of its 40e birthday.
Created by Daniel Jouen, the ASLB has continued to promote sport, leisure and social connections among Bénouvilla residents of all ages. “This remarkable journey is based on the involvement of a dedicated team, united and focused on a common objective: offering activities and moments of relaxation to the Bénouvillais”
underlined Christian Houry and Claude Aubrée, the two co-presidents of the association.
For the 2025-2026 season, the ASLB has 501 practitioners, aged 4 to 87, a stable number compared to previous years. The range of activities remains particularly rich for adults: badminton, body cardio, gym fitness, cardio strengthening, multisport, Pilates, hiking, table tennis, yoga but also cultural and well-being activities such as drawing, painting, patchwork and sophrology.
Children are not left out: badminton, multisport, gymnastics, drawing and painting are also on offer. The association has 123 young people, ten more than last year, despite the closure of the hip-hop section, which was no longer meeting the hoped-for success. “A children’s gymnastics class was added on Saturday mornings, bringing the number of weekly sessions to three. »
The adult table tennis section, with around fifteen members including nine licensees, remains one of the historic sections. “We mainly do leisure matches and Ufolep competitions. We have two teams committed but we need four to five additional players,”
explains Pascal Fleury, head of the section.
2,000 hours of volunteering
Behind this dynamic, the commitment of volunteers remains essential. Nearly 2,000 hours of volunteer work are carried out each year. “Two new

A meeting with the municipality is planned to prepare for the attic fair scheduled for April 12. “The town hall told us that the multipurpose room should still be usable on this date. Failing this, other solutions will be considered”
announces Christian Houry.
