Benoît Saint Denis: UFC Ranking Rise & Hooker Win

The crazy climb continues. Like every Tuesday, the UFC, the prestigious MMA league, revealed its new rankings after UFC 325 in Sydney played on the night of Saturday to Sunday. And Benoît Saint Denis makes the big deal of the week after his superb victory against Dan Hooker by TKO in the 2nd round.

After a delicate first recovery, the Frenchman made the difference on the ground against the New Zealander. First engaged in a long submission attempt, “God of war” finally beat his opponent, better ranked than him before the fight, forcing the referee to stop the massacre a few seconds before the end of the 2nd round.

Thanks to this success, the former member of the special forces continues to climb the rankings and is now in 5th place. He overtakes his victim of the weekend, Dan Hooker, but also Mateusz Gamrot and Paddy Pimblett. And he is now part of the elite of the planet’s lightweights.

With this ranking, Benoît Saint Denis can now legitimately claim a duel with a legend. The five fighters in front of him are all big names, including champion Ilia Topuria and interim champion Justin Gaethje. Third and fourth, Charles Oliveira and Max Holloway will face each other in March. Arman Tsarukyan (2nd) is waiting for his next deadline. And it could well be a terrible fight against the Frenchman.
