Arsenal did well in their quest for the Premier League by beating Sunderland (3-0).
This Saturday afternoon, Arsenal welcomed Sunderland to the Emirates Stadium, on the occasion of the 25th day of
Premier League. Just before the end of the first period, the Gunners opened the scoring.
Leandro Trossard crossed back towards Martin Zubimendi, who fired a shot from the right which entered the goal, with the help of the post (1-0, 42nd). In added time, Kai Havertz was not far from giving his team a break (45th+2).
Manchester City sous pression
In the second half, the Black Cats were threatening. However, it was Arsenal who found the fault again, through Viktor Gyökeres. The Swedish international threw himself into the area to beat Robin Roefs (67th, 2-0). The former Sporting Portugal player even scored twice in added time, after a counter-attack (3-0, 90th+4).
Thanks to this success, the men of
Mikel Arteta consolidate their lead at the top of the championship. With 56 points on the clock, they now have a nine-point lead over Manchester City. To avoid being left too far behind in the title race, Erling Haaland and his teammates will absolutely have to achieve a result at Anfield, Sunday at 5:30 p.m., against Liverpool.
