Behind a superior Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson stood for a new strong skiathlon performance. After two consecutive WC golds, she now also has an Olympic silver in the distance.
Andersson is making her third Olympics, but this was her first individual medal.
– You get some perspective on how tough it is to succeed when it matters most. It feels very long-awaited, and nice that it comes directly on the first distance. Then I know that the shape doesn’t seem too crazy.
The silver medalist also got a flight. It came loose from its strap when Andersson took a victory lap with Karlsson.
– The medal is perhaps not made to be worn around the neck when you cut half the race. Also at Frida Karlsson’s pace.
