The Higher Sports Council (CSD) has designated the public universities of Andalusia as the venue for the 2026 Spanish University Championships, in which the University of Granada (UGR) will play a leading role.
According to this university institution, it will be the first time that a single autonomous community hosts all the sports disciplines of this national event.
The championship will be held between the months of March and May and will feature more than 6,350 athletes from 85 universities, who will compete in 32 different modalities.
The University of Granada, which coordinates the organization of the championship, will host 4,000 participants in the equestrian, swimming and adapted swimming competitions, badminton, karate, rugby 7, futsal, basketball, 3×3, handball, judo, wrestling, taekwondo, soccer and volleyball.
