Amir Murillo officially left OM yesterday to join Besiktas. The Olympian club recovers €6 million in this transfer, in addition to reducing its payroll; an important data without qualification for the final table of the Champions League. The Panamanian full-back was no longer really part of Roberto De Zerbi’s plans, especially after his latest errors during important matches like against PSG in the Champions Trophy and against Bruges ten days ago. Despite a difficult end to the adventure, the 29-year-old wanted to send a message to the club and the supporters for the time spent together.
«This may not be the ending we were hoping for, but I can’t close this chapter without sending a few words of thanks to you, the fans, and to everyone who has impacted me and shared great moments with over the past two and a half years. Marseille will always have a special place in my heart. It is the city where Amir Jr. (his son) was born, where I was able to realize my childhood dream of playing in the Champions League, and I will cherish it as a place where I felt incomparable warmth from the supporters at Stade Vélodrome. These are indelible and unforgettable memorieshe writes in the preamble. I would like to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to wear these colors and be part of its history. Finally, I would like to particularly thank my teammates. Every day would have been different without them, and it was a pleasure to share the locker room with such great players. Marseille is different, and OM is a unique club. From there, I will support you wherever I am. Come on OM».
