The Montreal Alliance announced the signing of point guard Keeshawn Barthelemy, a native of Montreal, who will join the team for the 2026 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CBLE).

With NCAA, international and professional experience, Barthelemy returns to his hometown to begin a new chapter in his career.

“Keeshawn is a player of great human quality, who brings calm, competitiveness and excellent reading of the game,” said Joel Anthony, general manager and co-owner of the Alliance. “He played at a very high level, he continued to progress as a professional, and welcoming a Montreal player back home with this experience is very meaningful for our organization. We believe it is a perfect fit for what we are building. »

The 6’1” and 180-pound point guard arrives in Montreal after a notable stint with Proteas EKA AEL, in the Cypriot Division A, during the 2025-2026 season. In 10 professional games, Barthelemy averaged 13.8 points, 3.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game, ranking third on his team in points scored, while assuming a key role as a playmaker and providing consistent contributions on both ends of the court. His impact was felt throughout the season, notably through several double-digit performances, including a 27-point outing against Morphou.

Aged 25, Barthelemy had a remarkable academic career in the NCAA, beginning his career at the University of Colorado before concluding it at the University of Oregon. In five seasons, he played 140 games, getting several starts and establishing himself as a reliable scorer and leader capable of orchestrating the attack. In his final college season at Oregon (2024-25), Barthelemy scored 10.0 points per game, while maintaining a 41.4% success rate from behind the arc. His offensive and free throw efficiency ranked him among the best in his conference.

Barthelemy also brings valuable international experience, having represented Team Canada on several stages, including at the FIBA U17 World Cup in 2018 as well as the Global Jam tournament in 2022.

“Coming back to Montreal to play at the professional level is something I’ve always dreamed of,” said Barthelemy. “This is where it all started for me, and to be able to wear the Alliance jersey in front of my family, friends and fans is truly special.” I’m really looking forward to the new season, what the team is building, and I’m ready to get to work. »
