Dick Lukkien expects Stije Resink to finish the season at FC Groningen. Benfica seriously wanted the midfielder, but a transfer to Portugal seems out of the question.
Resink is having a strong season with FC Groningen and is therefore on the radar of clubs at home and abroad. It was recently revealed that Benfica would be serious about signing the midfielder. However, FC Groningen does not want to lose Resink this winter and is high on the tree, which is why the Portuguese club reportedly decided to drop out.
Saturday evening before the match against Sparta Rotterdam, Lukkien gave a final update on all transfer rumors surrounding his captain. “We still have three days, but as it looks now, Stije will be there for the rest of the season,” the coach said. ESPN.
