Ajax Transfer: Carrizo Farewell & Deal Close

Maher Carrizo’s move to Ajax is now really a matter of time. On Monday evening, the Argentine right winger (19) said goodbye to his club Vélez Sarsfield with an emotional message on Instagram.

‘Today I say goodbye to a very important chapter in my life. After more than ten years at this club, which was my home, I have only words of gratitude,” Carrizo begins his statement.

‘Thank you to the people of Vélez, who were always there for me, in good and bad times, and gave me their support and affection. Thank you to all the club staff, the medical staff, physiotherapists and equipment men, who always guided me with their daily work and dedication and made me feel supported at every moment.’

‘Thanks also to the trainers and managers who believed in me and helped me grow, and to my teammates, for the daily commitment, the joint efforts, the conversations, the laughter and defending these club colors together. Thanks to my family, who was always there for me, supported me and encouraged me to keep growing.’

‘These were wonderful years, full of educational moments, hard work and a lot of joy that I will carry with me forever. Today I have to change my destiny and take on a new challenge, but my love for these club colors will never be forgotten. This is not goodbye, but see you soon. I’m sure our paths will cross again.’

Carrizo will be presented by Ajax shortly. In Amsterdam, a contract until mid-2030 is ready for the talented Argentinian, which initially costs around 5.5 million euros. Ajax will therefore obtain fifty percent of the transfer rights. The other half can be bought off in the future for 4.5 million.
