It’s official. Abel Ferreira guaranteed reinforcement for the attack. Palmeiras reached an agreement with Wolverhampton to sign Jhon Arias, in a deal valued at 25 million euros, and will pay this amount in phases over four years.
The Colombian attacking midfielder has also agreed the basis of his contract with the Verdãowhich will last four seasons, valid until the end of 2029. The player has already signed preliminary documents and undergone medical examinations in Europe, and is expected in Brazil next week, but it was already announced this Saturday.
Arias is the team’s second reinforcement for the new season, after the arrival of midfielder Marlon Freitas, from Botafogo. Fluminense, who sold the athlete to Wolves last summer for €17M, still tried to get him back, but only offered €20M and did not want to match Palmeiras’ €25M, according to the Brazilian press. Jhon Arias scored 2 goals and made 1 assist in 26 games for Wolves.

Despite this signing, Palmeiras remains active in the transfer market, with the aim of securing a central defender and a midfielder, guarantees Globo Esporte. For the defense, the main target is Nino, but Zenit does not seem willing to trade the player this summer. As for midfield, the attempt to sign Danilo was stopped by Botafogo, which officially announced that it had no intention of selling the athlete. Palmeiras has until March 3rd to register new players.
