A few days before the highly anticipated opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, this Friday, February 5, indiscretions are increasing about the course of the event. The Italian daily announces that, if “the succession of performances is still confidential”, the name of the 54-year-old singer is indeed checked, without going into the details of his role. The presence of Mariah Carey has been confirmed since mid-December by the organizers. The “All I Want for Christmas Is You” singer will be “a major musical icon of the ceremony,” said a press release.

For the first time in the history of the Games, the ceremony will take place simultaneously in different locations: San Siro, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Livigno and Predazzo. At San Siro, where the Inter and AC Milan football teams usually play, more than 60,000 spectators are expected, with tickets ranging from 260 to 2,000 euros.
