4 countries with strong candidates to win the 2026 Uber Cup
1. China

This country is the defending champion of the 2024 Uber Cup. The Chinese Badminton Team has even dominated the most prestigious women’s team event with a total of 16 championship titles.
Currently, China has three women’s singles in the top five of the BWF ranking, namely Wang Zhi Yi (2), Chen Yu Fei (3), and Han Yue (5). In women’s doubles, they also had two pairs, namely Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning (1) and Jia Yi Fan/Zhang Shu Xian (3) in the top five.
2. Japan

This country has collected the most titles in the Uber Cup. The Japanese Badminton Team has won six times, the last time being in 2018. Their strength is quite even in singles and doubles.
Akane Yamaguchi and Tomoka Miyazaki will be the mainstays in the women’s singles. Then, Yuki Fukushima/Mayu Matsumoto and Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi are clearly reliable in the women’s doubles.
