Figure skating at the Olympics is presented in five competitions: team event (February 6 and 8), ice dancing (9 and 11), men (10 and 13), women (17 and 19) and couples (15 and 16).
The team event, which interests us today, takes place in four stages: rhythmic dance, couples short program, ladies short program and men’s short program.
10 nations participate. The first five will qualify for the second round with the same process with one difference: no more short programs, room for free programs.
Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry, eagerly awaited, shone in rhythmic dance (2e). The other French duo, Pavel Kovalev and his sister Camille, finished 7e on the short couples program. France is provisionally 5e to the general.
