JUARA.NET – Malaysia’s doubles coaching director, Rexy Mainaky, is worried that his squad will meet Indonesia in the group phase of the 2026 Asian Team Championship.

Malaysia is in Group D with Indonesia and Myanmar at the 2026 Asian Team Championship.

The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is speculating by keeping several top players.

Names like Lee Zii Jia, Man Wei Chong/Tee Kai Wun, to Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik will not participate in this tournament.

Malaysia only has second grade badminton players such as Justin Hoh and Wan Arif Junaidi/Yap Roy King.

It’s natural that dual training director, Rexy Mainaky, is a bit worried about Malaysia’s chances.

The Indonesian squad is clearly a serious threat for Malaysia to qualify for the next phase.

Even though they are without Jonatan Christie and Fajar/Fikri, the Red and White team is still scary with the presence of Moh Zaki Ubaidillah and Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana.

As is known, Ubed and Leo/Bagas have just won the BWF Super 300 tournament, Thailand Masters 2026.
