Galatasaray reached a happy ending in the transfer of 22-year-old young Colombian football player Yáser Asprilla. The yellow-red club officially announced that an agreement was reached with the young player and his club Girona on a free loan transfer with the option to purchase for the remaining part of the 2025-2026 season.

In the statement made by the club, it was stated that the purchase option was subject to the unilateral and written request of Galatasaray, and if this request was not realized, no obligation would arise. According to the statement, Galatasaray will pay a net guarantee fee of 1 million 200 thousand euros to the Colombian attacker for the second half of the 2025-2026 season. On the other hand, it was reported that the non-mandatory purchase option price was around 22-23 million euros.

Galatasaray was the club that offered Girona the best offer for the transfer of Yáser Asprilla, who had previously been interested in Benfica, Ajax and Marseille. The young player, who played for Envigado, Watford and Girona in his career, produced 17 goals and 15 assists in a total of 176 official matches in his club career.

Asprilla, who played 11 times for the Colombian National Team and scored 2 goals, was transferred from Watford to Girona in 2024 for a transfer fee of 18 million euros and signed a contract until 2030.
