The possible reunion between Cody Bellinger and the New York Yankees seems to have seriously complicated.
As reported by Buster Olney (ESPN), both parties are “at an impasse,” to the point that the Yankees are already moving as if Bellinger were going to sign with another team, and will begin to look for reinforcements in other areas.
What is blocking the agreement?According to reports:

• For more than $30 million per season
• But Bellinger’s entourage (Scott Boras’ client) would be looking for:
7 years and an AAV greater than $30MIn other words: the problem is not only the money… it is also the duration of the contract.

Several teams have been linked to Bellinger at different times in the offseason: Cubs, Dodgers, Giants, Mets, Angels, Blue Jays and Phillies.If this falls through completely, it would be a big blow for the Yankees, as Bellinger has been designated as the team’s #1 priority.
